I just woke up from a realistic nightmare about being deprived of coffee. When I woke up I literally snarled loudly… “I need some coffee” as if it was a life and death situation. I think I woke up my mom. I went straight to the fridge after that and finished the rest of the frozen cappuccino my mom brought home for me last night from Heine Bros. I just thought this was interesting, so I thought I would share it. I’m going to make a pot of coffee now.

Disregard my last post.
I figured out how to get my EeePC 1000 to connect to my wpa2 connection using Ubuntu Netbook Remix. It turns out that I needed to use aes encryption instead of aes or tkip on the wireless router.
Ubuntu Linux distro for an Asus Eee PC 1000
I’ve tried Ubuntu Easy Peasy 1, and 2, and Ubuntu Netbook Remix.
Easy Peasy has a bug where my cursor jumps backwards in the paragraph if I barely hit the touchpad while I’m typing. I don’t think you can turn off the tap to click feature of the touchpad either so if I touch that while my mouse is touching something I’m avoiding clicking too bad for me. I could see myself tapping a button to purchase something twice while shopping and getting charged twice for accidentally tapping my touchpad. I’m always hitting buttons twice in my launcher or web browser already.
Ubuntu Netbook Remix works great because I don’t have any of the problems I listed above with it. There is one thing that I miss about Easy Peasy though. Easy Peasy could connect to wpa2 wireless networks. Ubuntu Netbook Remix can’t with my EEE PC 1000.
I think I should probably leave my wireless router set to wpa and not wpa2 while waiting for Eeebuntu Netbook Remix comes out. Then try it.
Does anyone know how I could get connected to a wpa2 network in Ubuntu Netbook Remix while I’m waiting for EEEbuntu to come out?
Thanks.

Doing things over and over expecting to disprove a theory.
I’ve heard it a million times. Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results is the definition of insanity. That’s a load of crap. Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results is how you disprove an theory. If you have a theory that you can’t prove that may be a sign of insanity, but the sane thing to do would be to try to scientifically disprove it which might require experimenting to determine whether the theory holds up scientifically. Sometimes you have to do your experiments more than once to determine if the experiment was done properly. I may be “insane” but doing things over and over again expecting different results isn’t the reason for it.

Homestar Runner/Strongbad Email
This is a show called Homestar Runner. This is one of the Strongbad Email episodes. This show is probably my favorite of all the web cartoons I’ve run into before. Its either this or South Park I’d say.

Listen to this odd funny live sound by a bunch of hicks who play rock songs with bluegrass instruments. They sound like a mix between rock/punk and bluegrass. They’re called Hayseed Dixie. This is free for downloading on http://www.archive.org its knee slappin’ funny.
